Hi, I'm Lisa, and I run the little shoppe behind all the spooky-cute tees, tanks and totes you've been scrolling past. Most days my inbox looks the same: a side-hustler with a design idea, a small shop owner who needs 40 shirts by the 20th, and someone who just typed "DTF transfers" into Google and is now sweating.
So let's just talk it out. No jargon, no runaround - here are the real answers to the questions you actually ask before you order. Boos and ghouls, this one's for you.
Custom Orders: What Counts, and How It Works
What can I get made custom?
Pretty much anything you've seen in the shop can be made your way - a quote on a tee instead of a tank, a different garment color, or your own artwork printed on a Bella Canvas tee, tank, baseball tee or canvas tote. If you can sketch it, describe it, or screenshot it, you can send it. Yes, even the chaotic idea you had at 2 a.m.
Do I need to be a designer to send artwork?
Nope. Send what you have - a PNG, a JPG, even a decent phone photo of a drawing - and I'll tell you honestly whether it will print cleanly. The magic word here is transparent background for cut-out designs; if you don't have one, just send it anyway and we'll figure it out together.
How long does a custom order take?
Most custom pieces are ready to ship within a week or so of artwork approval. That clock starts when we've both agreed on the final file, not when you first email me - so if you're working toward a date, get the design locked early and the rest is smooth sailing.
Is there a minimum for custom work?
For one-off custom pieces, no. Order one shirt with your own design if that's what you want - I'm not going to make you buy twelve to prove you're serious.
Bulk Orders: Yes, There Are Real Price Breaks
How many shirts count as "bulk"?
Once you're past about a dozen pieces, things get interesting. Bulk is built for small shops, teams, event vendors, market booths and anyone ordering in volume - and the more you order, the better the per-piece price gets.
Do you do mixed sizes and mixed designs?
Absolutely. A bulk order can be a mix of sizes across the same design, and if you want two or three different designs split across the run, that's fine too. Mixed size runs are normal, not a nuisance.
How far ahead should I order for an event?
Give yourself at least two to three weeks before your date. That leaves room for artwork tweaks, a production window, and shipping - and it means you're not refreshing a tracking number at 1 a.m. the night before your market booth opens. Halloween, craft fairs and holiday markets book up fast, so earlier is always better.
Can you handle a rush?
Sometimes, and I'll always tell you straight if I can't. Message me with your date before you order and I'll give you a yes or an honest no rather than a maybe that ruins your weekend.
DTF Transfers: The Tiny Miracle Behind Your Design
What even is a DTF transfer?
DTF stands for direct-to-film. Your design gets printed onto a special film with a heat-activated adhesive backing, and then it's pressed onto the garment with heat. The result is a bright, detailed, flexible print that handles fine lines, gradients and full-color artwork far better than a lot of traditional methods.
Why order transfers instead of finished shirts?
Because you keep control. If you already have a press, or you're building a small decorating setup of your own, DTF transfers let you print your design on the garments you already own, in the sizes and colors you actually need, whenever you need them. No huge inventory, no guessing.
How do I apply a DTF transfer?
Heat press, firm pressure, medium-high heat, and a short press - then peel the film while it's still warm. Every order comes with clear instructions so you're not reverse-engineering it from a forum thread.
How well do DTF prints hold up?
Really well when they're cared for: wash inside out, cold water, no fabric softener, and skip the hot dryer. Treat it kindly and your design stays vivid wash after wash - which matters a lot if you're selling these pieces to paying customers.
Can I get transfers without a heat press?
You'll need heat and pressure to apply them - a heat press is the right tool. If you don't have one yet, start with finished garments and add transfers once you're ready to scale.
The Little Details That Matter
Where do I send my questions?
Straight to me. Whether you found me searching lisa little, a little shoppe, or an accidental lisa littlechap, it's the same girl at the same sewing table, and I answer my own messages. Tell me what you're making, your date, your quantity, and your artwork - and I'll come back with a real plan.
What makes an order go smoothly?
Three things: send artwork early, confirm your quantity and sizes in writing, and tell me your deadline up front. That's it. Everything else is my job.
Do you help if I'm new to all this?
That's my favorite kind of customer. First custom order, first market booth, first time buying transfers - ask the "silly" question. I'd rather answer it than have you order the wrong thing.
Let's Make Something Spooky-Cute
Here's the short version: custom orders let you put your own weird, wonderful idea on a garment. Bulk orders bring the price down when you're buying for a shop, a team or a market. And DTF transfers put the printing power in your own hands, one press at a time.
So poke around the shop, pick your favorite spooky-cute design, and then message me about making it yours. Bring your design, your date and your quantity - I'll bring the caffeine and the chaos. Trick or treat? Why not both.
